| I'm ready for and certainly need a vacation. I can't wait to see my brother and all my YWAM friends. It'll be so nice to have about two weeks off from work. I'm glad too see him graduate from SOE and glad to hang with Jess and Emili and Antonio and whoever else. I also want God to freshen and revive me. Work drains me and despite the awesome opportunities I have to witness there Every Single Day- I'd love time away to pray hard core and hear from God about them and my future. I'm excited for the little things like the lakes and the Substation and the dorms and Sonic. Yay! Vacation. | | |
| I guess some political issues have been on mind more. I mean my parents watch alot of news and they watch Glen Beck every night (if you know who that is). Its different than being at YWAM where I knew all about what was going on in the world-missionary wise but not a thing-news wise. Anyway, I watched An Inconvienient Truth, Al Gore's Global Warming movie, and then a night later I watched Glen Beck's special called Exposed: The Climate of Fear. It was basically the other side of the story, exposing all of Gore's exaggerations and lies. The democratic and republican debates, and history too-like the movie The Queen, which I'm watching right now. Or right now in Hazelton how they are making a stand against illegal immigrants and if they win in court others cities will be able to take that stand too. I know I know very little and its hard not to be biased with the media the way it is and being brought up to think the way my parents do but I'm glad to know something and to be able to pray for my nation. | | |
| There is an Indian couple I work with and their names are Harry (Haresh) and Usha. I love them and I bought them a Bible in their first language-Gujatari (i think) (their second being Hindi and their third being English) Anyway they are the sweetest people in the world, always joking and telling me they want me to be their best friend in the US, as they have only been here about 5 months. I would love any prayers for them and more chances to witness because the thought of not getting to be with them in heaven forever makes me want to cry forever. Also, I got all my documents and pictures back that I lost from my computer and.... my book is of to the publisher... Its almost unbelievable. | | |
| My six year old computer finally died two nights ago. The sad thing is that it died the day after I finished a 120 pg book on it that was about to go to the publisher. And before it was saved anywhere else. A lesson learned. I look at the bright side. I will get a new computer and I did feel like God desired me to spend alittle more time in prayer about this book of mine before I got it published- now I have no choice. A friend of mine told me I had nothing to worry about.- If all I need is a new computer, That's less than one one month's pay- he needs a new apartment and his licence and a car.... I said he was right and thanked him for utting things in perspective for me. | | |
| I've been working at Dunkin' Donuts for about three weeks now. I work with people named Raj and Jayshree and Arti and Usha and Surya and Rashmi. They are all Indian and some have only been in the country a few months. The owner is Indian and owns the store I work at and another Dunkin' Donuts about 15-20 minutes away. They all speak some dialect of Hindi. If I was working here while taking my Cultural Anthropology class I definately would have done my project on this job and the Dunkin'Donuts Indian Regime instead of Chinatown and the church like I did. It's an interesting place and I'm learning some interesting stuff though my dreams still lie in Latin America. | | |
